Your site's features are as important as its looks.
How a site looks, and works with your visual identity, is important. But what
a site does is also important. With that in mind, here are some
site features and terms explained.
- Database. A database is a centralized "information store."
This database can store your site's content - all of the text, headlines,
and the like. Working with a database allows Expos On Line to create a backend
so you can control your site.
- Backend, or Content Management System. A backend (or CMS) is a private
website designed exclusively for your site and needs. This site lets you control the
content on your site. You can enter and upload text for your site, view what
links people are clicking, and manage user registrations.
- Content. The content of your site is the information, the text, and
the main "meat" of your site. Content is important: it brings new visitors in
(from search engines) and keeps existing visitors coming back for more.
- Copywriting. Writing for the web needs to be concise and strong.
Our experience working with the web can help fine-tune your existing copy (brochures,
press releases, et al) for this medium.
- Forms. Forms let users do many things on your site: they can
search for information (which is usually in a database,) contact you for a follow-up,
and more. Expos On Line can create forms that are easy-to-use and tailor-made for your
business.
- Online sales. We've worked with clients to sell items online
securely and easily. We'll craft a site that your visitors will trust.
- Private areas. Need an area for registered users? Not a problem.
We'll design and develop a system that gets the information you need, and gets visitors
to the information they want.
